Richard Johnson, a Dallas attorney, is recognized by his peers and clients alike for his expertise in estate planning, probate, and asset protection. Mr. Johnson grew up in Austin, Texas. He graduated from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas in 1970 with a degree in Business Administration. He graduated from South Texas College of Law in Houston, Texas in 1974 with a Doctorate of Jurisprudence.
Mr. Johnson began the practice of law as an Assistant District Attorney in San Antonio, Texas. He served as Assistant City Attorney in Garland, Texas and later served as Municipal Judge in Garland, Texas.
Mr. Johnson is licensed to practice law in the states of Texas and Washington. He is licensed to practice in Federal Court in the Northern District of Texas and is also licensed to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States.
Mr. Johnson is a VA accredited attorney and is Board Certified in Estate Planning and Probate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and is rated the highest rating of AV by the attorney rating service of Martindale Hubbell. He is a member of the following professional organizations:

Mr. Johnson has been married to Rita Johnson since 1969. They have two children, Marcie Johnson and Katie Kathman. Marcie practices with the firm of Richard P. Johnson, P.C. and Katie is a third grade teacher in Grapevine, Texas. Katie is married to Jason Kathman, a Bankruptcy attorney in Dallas, Texas. Katie and Jason have one child, Sean Patrick Kathman born in 2011.
Mr. Johnson is a graduate of Leadership Garland and is a 32nd degree Master Mason.
For fun, Mr. Johnson enjoys, water skiing, RVing, hiking, traveling and aviation. He is also a huge Texas Tech Red Raider fan.
